Dives With Real Purpose

Every dive has a focus (not just “go for a swim”). You’ll learn something useful each time, then immediately put it into practice — so the skills actually stick.

What a Typical Schedule Looks Like

The SSI Advanced Open Water course is a 2-day programme where you’ll try five different dives, helping you figure out which specialties you’d like to continue with next. Each dive also counts as the first training dive for that specialty if you decide to complete the full course later.

This is our usual schedule, but we’re flexible and can often arrange the dives around your plans.

Day 1: Buoyancy + Navigation + Night Dive

· Quick course welcome and plan for the two days
· Work on buoyancy control and trim
· Navigation skills using a compass and natural references
· One extra adventure dive, depending on the day

Day 2: Deep & Wreck Dive

· Feel the difference at depth with better control and awareness
· Explore a wreck safely and learn the basics of wreck diving techniques
· Log your dives, do a quick recap, and wrap everything up

WHO CAN JOIN THE SSI ADVANCED DIVER COURSE?

If you’re already certified and feel comfortable in the water, you’re probably ready. Here’s what you’ll need before starting — and if anything is unclear, just message us, and we’ll help you figure it out quickly.

Certification
You’ll need an Open Water Diver certification — SSI or equivalent from another agency (PADI, NAUI, etc.).

Age
Minimum 10 years old. If your plan includes the Deep training dive, the minimum age is 12.

Medical
You’ll complete a quick medical questionnaire before diving. If you answer “yes” to anything, you may need a doctor’s clearance — we’ll tell you exactly what’s needed.

Recent diving / logged dives
Ideally, you’ve done around 10 logged dives, or you’ve dived in the last 6 months. If it’s been a while, no stress —
we’ll recommend a quick Scuba Review first, so you feel comfortable again.
